
Research Papers
Over his long-standing career, Professor Hendricks has published various research papers, particularly focused on the field of Maxillofacial Surgery. His research capabilities are extensive, having served on UWC’s Faculty Research Committee, and coordinating Coordinate undergraduate and postgraduate research at UWC’S MFOS (Maxillofacial Oral Surgery) Department.
His Master’s Dissertation focused on the Extraction and retention of teeth in the line of mandibular fracture. His PhD project was on the Evaluation of the clinical outcome of curvilinear transport distraction osteogenesis and revascularized fibula free flaps in the reconstruction of large post-maxillectomy defects.
Professor Rushdi Hendricks also has a keen interest in Obstructive Sleep Apnea research, having completed a study on the Surgical management of severe obstructive sleep apnoea by means of tongue suspension at Vincent Pallotti Hospital, Pinelands.
